the wand chooses the wizard

Mr. Ollivander tells Harry that the wand chooses the wizard.

Throughout his adventures, Harry receives many gifts whose power or meaning don’t seem clear at the beginning.

Only later does he learn of their significance. As he gains deeper understanding.

One of them being his wand.

But receiving gifts doesn’t guarantee success.

Receiving UNDERSTANDING, however…this frees you from doubt and uncertainty.

And understanding means you can create success over and over.

Similarly, many people wish they could just receive money and it would solve all their problems.

Or that they could just lose fat quickly with some magic workout or food.

And it’s exactly why people perpetually struggle. They don’t know how the effect was created. They don’t know what caused it.

They were seeking to receive the gifts vs the understanding.

When you understand money, you can create it over and over. You become free from lack.

When you understand the body, you can make it look and feel the way you want. No matter the circumstance.

The same sentiment is found across time and space. In the Bible, it says “in all thy seeking, seek understanding”. The understanding, the wisdom…that’s the thing that can create over and over.

Receiving a gift is great. But the understanding of something, it’s true cause….that’s what eliminates doubt and uncertainty.

I know you want to lose fat and get strong now.

And you could use some short term thing to get there.

But will it last? What happens if you go on vacation….or you have family over?

Or it’s the holidays?

yes…it will take longer to gain understanding. But you will come away with the ability and certainty to never get fat again. To always stay in shape no matter what’s going on.

Which one is better? Up to you.

Yes, I was watching Harry Potter. One of my favorite books and movies.

And I remember the first time I read Harry Potter, it was in 6th grade before Christmas break.

But as I was watching Ollivander say this line, it reminded me of my notes on receiving things vs getting understanding and here we are.
